HELPING DIGITAL INNOVATORS FIND THEIR WAY INTO RAIL

The Rail Innovation Group is a non-profit that supports start-ups, SMEs, and scale-ups building digital, data, and software solutions for the rail sector.

Members get hands-on support to establish a brand in rail, find routes to market, and build the networks they need to win work.

A wider community of advocates, champions, and interested professionals follows our work, attends our public events, and subscribes to our newsletter.

WHAT WE DO

For digital companies trying to win work in rail.

Members get hands-on help building their brand presence, finding routes to market, and connecting with the people inside rail who can open doors.

We focus on companies developing digital, data, and software solutions.

Read about membership..

For rail clients, larger suppliers, and corporate partners who aren't members but want to engage with our community.

Engagement is on a project basis: sponsoring an event, commissioning a Supplier Challenge, co-funding research, or a bespoke partnership programme.

We publish research drawn from our members and wider community.

Our reports reflect the experience of small companies and propose ways to make rail more accessible to new ideas.

Recent reports cover skills, funding support, and how small companies build international reach from a UK rail base.

About Us
MEET UPS

MEET UPS

Our Meet Ups are how members and the wider community meet each other, and the people in rail who can help them get things done.

Each one is hosted by a member or partner company and combines a topical talk with networking. Rail is a closed industry. Getting an idea adopted usually depends on knowing the right people, and the Meet Ups are where those introductions start.

Members get priority access and can host their own Meet Ups. Anyone is welcome to attend.

START UP RAIL

One of our Engagement & Partnerships programmes. Start Up Rail brings small suppliers into direct contact with rail's major buyers, through Supplier Challenges built around live operational briefs.

Suppliers pitch against real problems. The client gets a pipeline of candidates. The suppliers get a foot in the door of a customer they would otherwise struggle to reach. Recent partners include Heathrow Express and Hitachi Rail.
